Canadian Delegation Visits the Benguerir Campus
As part of the Education Partnership Mission, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) had the pleasure of welcoming a distinguished delegation of Canadian universities representing several provinces across Canada. Among the participating institutions were the University of Alberta, Université Laval, McMaster University, the University of Regina, Polytechnique Montréal, the Université de Moncton, and York University.
Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Morocco and UM6P Canada, this visit aimed to foster academic and scientific dialogue among participating institutions and to explore opportunities for collaboration in higher education, applied research, and innovation.
During their stay, members of the delegation had the opportunity to discover UM6P’s state-of-the-art facilities, including several internationally renowned research laboratories such as ACER (African Center for Energy Research), LIMSET (Laboratory of Molecular and Supramolecular Electronics and Transport), and MSN (Materials, Science, and Nanotechnologies).
The visit also highlighted key initiatives within the UM6P ecosystem, including the MAScIR Foundation (Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research), the Green Energy Park, and 1337 School — an innovative, inclusive computer science school open to all and free of charge.
This mission marked an important milestone in strengthening academic and scientific ties between Canada and Morocco, laying the groundwork for future strategic partnerships in education, collaborative research, and technological innovation.
