OCP Meets Talents – Canada: Mobilizing the Energies of the Moroccan Diaspora to Build the Future

On May 24, 2025, during the “OCP Meets Talents – Canada” event, UM6P Global Hubs Canada had the pleasure of taking part in a privileged moment of exchange organized by the OCP Group, bringing together an exceptional audience of Moroccan talents from diverse backgrounds — individuals carrying ideas, experiences, and initiatives with strong potential. This gathering served as an opportunity to reconnect with a dynamic and engaged diaspora eager to create impact both in Canada and Africa, and to explore new ways to contribute to major collective challenges.

This event is part of an international series launched by the OCP Group, titled “OCP Meets Talents”, which aims to strengthen ties between the Group and Moroccan talents across the world. These meetings are designed as platforms for dialogue, visibility, and human connection, aligned with the Group’s strategic ambitions in the areas of leadership, innovation, sustainability, and global transformation.

For UM6P Global Hubs Canada, this moment represented a strategic opportunity for connection — engaging with a community often distant from academic or institutional networks, yet carrying immense energy, creativity, transferable skills, and a genuine desire to contribute. As the North American hub of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), the organization is working to develop an active network of talents, ideas, and initiatives at the intersection of education, innovation, and co-development. The goal is clear: to foster the emergence of high-impact projects that mobilize the diaspora as a driver of transformation and influence.

This positioning aligns perfectly with the strategic partnership between UM6P and the OCP Group, particularly around OCP’s ambitious technological agenda. UM6P serves as the academic pillar of the OCP ecosystem, supporting the implementation of major programs such as the 2023–2027 Green Investment Plan and the carbon neutrality objective by 2040. These projects require the cross-sector mobilization of talent, ideas, and global resources — areas where the diaspora can play a decisive role.

The diaspora is not only a reservoir of human capital — it is a driving force, an accelerator of ideas, and a network of influence and expertise capable of shaping sustainable development trajectories. This event showcased that reality brilliantly: Moroccan talents in Canada are ready to contribute, create, connect, and build. Together, we affirm that it is possible to dream, design, and realize an African future that is both rooted and open — collaborative and bold.
