UM6P Global Hubs Canada at the DeepTech Summit 2025: Catalyzing Innovation Bridges Between Canada and Africa
From May 7 to 9, 2025, the city of Benguerir became the epicenter of global technological thought by hosting the DeepTech Summit at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
This second edition brought together an exceptional ecosystem of researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors around a common goal: to imagine and shape the future through breakthrough technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, technological sovereignty, and social impact. The event stood out for its intellectual depth, international openness, and ability to generate fresh perspectives at the intersection of science, industry, and global challenges.
In this inspiring setting, UM6P Global Hubs Canada had the honor of participating as a strategic bridge-builder between African and Canadian innovation ecosystems.
We led a delegation composed of influential members of the Canadian diaspora and partners engaged in deep tech, impact investing, and applied research. These men and women—positioned at the crossroads of academia, entrepreneurship, and technology—embodied a shared ambition to forge tangible alliances built on excellence, inclusion, and sustainability. The rich discussions, meaningful connections, and emerging joint project opportunities reaffirmed the relevance of an agile, bold, and grounded transatlantic cooperation.
The DeepTech Summit 2025 was not merely a showcase of talent and ideas; it served as a catalyst for trust between continents.
For UM6P Global Hubs Canada, this participation marks a new milestone in our mission: activating high-value synergies between Canada and the African continent in support of scientific, technological, and societal transformation. We return with budding partnerships, shared commitments, and a strengthened conviction: the future of innovation is co-created through dialogue across worlds — and Canada has a pivotal role to play alongside African stakeholders.
