UM6P Visits McMaster: Toward Strengthened Canada–Africa Cooperation
On May 12 and 13, 2025, a high-level delegation from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) was welcomed at McMaster University in Hamilton for a series of strategic meetings focused on research, education, and innovation. The visit advanced several concrete areas of cooperation between the two institutions, with an emphasis on shared fields of strategic excellence: quantitative finance, actuarial sciences, quantum technologies, and multidisciplinary engineering.
These domains represent not only major scientific pillars at McMaster but also key drivers for Africa’s sustainable development. Discussions centered on the co-development of joint programs, collaboration in applied research, training for future-ready skills, and the exploration of bridges between technological innovation, risk management, and social impact. The depth and quality of the exchanges—rooted in real-world needs and converging expertise—reflect a shared commitment to advancing globally relevant initiatives.
Within this dynamic, UM6P Global Hubs Canada plays a crucial catalytic role. By maintaining a permanent presence in Canada, it enables the activation of powerful synergies between Moroccan, African, and North American ecosystems. Beyond bilateral cooperation, this partnership also lays the foundation for a fertile trilateral collaboration with Europe, aligning academic expertise, R&D investment, and long-term vision.
Through UM6P, Morocco positions itself as a strategic crossroads of intercontinental cooperation, ready to meet the scientific challenges of tomorrow through the convergence of talents and ideas.
